Convenient
slot reader
The MR350 MKII features a built-in swipe slot, which can accommodate
an optional bar code or magnetic stripe reader. This permits the
user to choose the technology that results in a cost-efficient
system. In addition to the slot readers, the MR350 MKII primary and
secondary scanner ports accept wand, CCD and laser readers, which
are often required in shop floor control
solutions.
Advanced
Smart Card reading
This new generation of terminals is optionally available with a
built-in smart card reader of MPCOS cards. It is ideal for loyalty
programs, mobile time & attendance and other secure
applications. It can store transactions, bonus points or timestamps
on the smart card and exchange the information with a host computer.
The
smart card reading module supports T=O/T=1 protocol and complies
with ISO 7816 Part 1-Part 3. The terminal comes with a landing
contact module.

Proximity
reader
For heavy-duty use and secure applications, the unit is also
available with a built-in proximity reader. Contactless reading and
data encryption ensure reliability. The reader uses a frequency of
125KHz and has a range of 2.7 (70 mm) with an internal
antenna.(ISOCard CLT50). The module reads 4-bit, standard R/O
transponders.
User
friendly
The MR350 MKII incorporates a large 2x16 backlit LCD. English and
European character sets are supported. The four LEDs are controlled
by software and a replaceable insertion keypad can be customized.
All these features that allow the development of intuitive,
user-friendly applications. Furthermore, the optional internal UPS
and standard lithium backup battery ensure that data is not lost
during a power failure and while the terminal is turned off.
Using
software control, an intruder alarm will sound off when an
unauthorized person opens the terminal.
Wide
range I/O interfaces
Two serial ports enhance the connectivity options. Host
communications use either the RS232 port or RS485 for multi-point
installations. A serial to Ethernet converter permits local area
networking and an internal modem is available for remote
installations.
Two
relays and four photo-coupler inputs enable external device
activation and detection of events. Both scanner ports can be
configured to support a Weigand reader, which in turn allows the
terminal to interface to alarm or security systems. All external
devices can be connected to the unit's Dsub and RJ connectors or to
its terminal block when the terminal is wall-mounted.
