Applications
A large backlit liquid crystal display with graphic mode support and
a 44-key full alphanumeric keypad are key features to write
user-friendly programs.
The
superior performance and the ability to connect to a wide range of
devices make the MR380 the perfect match for shop floor control,
advanced work in process, time and attendance, and access control.
In
all, the system's flexibility and rugged design adapt as efficient
solutions in environments from hospitality to factory automation.
Extensive
I/O options
With a wide range of I/O interfaces to support different external
devices, it is suitable for most data collection needs, regardless
of the input device required. Two scanner ports support high-speed
fixed position scanners, as well as hand-held scanners, magnetic
stripe readers and proximity readers. Furthermore, its built-in
photo coupler inputs and digital I/Os enable easy integration with
PLCs, conveyor belts, scales and alarm systems. The MR380 can
trigger external devices with two 227V AC relays. Real-time
applications benefit from its fast response to different external
devices.
The
terminal offers a selection between point to point RS232 and
multi-point RS485 connections to communicate with the host computer.
An external Ethernet adapter supplies access from any point in a
network. It incorporates an auxiliary RS232 port that can be used to
attach an external printer.
Exceptional
convenience
Configurations with 256 and 512 KB in RAM provide plenty of storage
for programs and data files, thus allowing the unit to operate
online or in batch mode.
Display
modes available include 8 by 40, 4 by 30 and 2 by 15 columns, as
well as a 240 by 64 pixels graphic mode. Moreover, all keys are
remappable and large enough so they are always easy to reach, even
with gloves.
Simple
application development
The MR380 is DOS-compatible, so developers can use industry standrd
C language compilers to generate programs that run on the terminal.
Free libraries, communication and configuration utilities can be
obtained from Unitech. A program generator is also available to
guide the novice through step by step programming.
