The
Inspector 2000 automatically discriminates between symbologies,
calculates the Print Contrast Signal (PCS), calculates Average Bar
Deviation, calculates ratio, performs mod check calculations and
verifies encodation.
The
unit reads bi-directionally all the popular linear symbologies
including UPC, EAN, Code 128, Code 39, Interleaved 2 of 5, and more.
Analysis information appears on an easily read 32-character
alphanumeric LCD and also is indicated with distinct tones depending
on whether a bar code is in or out of specification.
Additional
features include a wide variety of subsymbology choices, multiple
scan averaging, and a data match feature that allows the user to
analyze a specific bar code encodation.
Data
can also be sent to an optional printer or to RS-232 compatible
equipment for further analysis.
Two
wand choices are available – 6 mil and 10 mil aperture, both with
red (660 nm) light wavelength.
Accessories
available include a printer and a battery charger/power supply.

RJS
INSPECTOR 2000
STATEMENT OF COMPLIANCE
The
RJS Inspector 2000 performs the traditional method of verification.
This document is intended to describe the verifier’s standards of
compliance.
Reflectance
Compliance - 660 nm wavelength (red) light (see
note 1)
The
reflectance values indicated for the calibration plaque supplied
with the Inspector 2000 are traceable to the Applied Image Primary
Verification Calibrated Standard per ANSI X3.182 Step Reflectance
Chart (see note 2).
Final
system test is performed by scanning a test symbol with reflectance
values traceable to Applied Image U.P.C. Primary Verification
Standard (per ANSI X3.182) calibrated at 660 nm and 6 mil aperture.
The calculated Print Symbol Contrast (PCS) and element reflectance
values are confirmed to be within +/- 4 % of the target parameters
marked on the test symbol (see notes 1 and 2).
Notes:
-
The
Inspector 2000 can be set up to be calibrated to practically
any reflectance standard. High and low calibration reflectance
target values are user programmable via menus.
-
Applied
Image certified Calibration Standards are manufactured to
Applied Image, Inc. and Uniform Code Council, Inc.
specifications, using ANSI X3.182-1990 methodology, and are
calibrated using standards traceable to the National Institute
of Standards and Technology (N.I.S.T.)
